M13P--  TPACK

TPACK was formed to help 21st century teachers organize instruction and make sure students understand what information is being taught. Teacher’s knowledge of content, pedagogy and technology are important aspects that effect the way students’ learn. TPACK is technology used in teaching about how concepts are represented to learners. Teachers can use TPACK to organize their knowledge by focusing on what they know and how each analyzes what they know. TPACK can help educators use a common language of terms that will provide clarity of ideas when planning lessons with others.  Other tools that could be helpful aids in teaching falls into 3 categories; instructional models, instructional strategies, and technologies. Instructional models are research based ideas that help support learning by looking at academic skills in combination with learner’s skills. Every teacher should use instructional models in their classroom. An example of an instructional model is inquiry model that teaches students to problem solve using scientific discovery and practicing habits that let them learn about learning. Instructional strategies are easy ways to engage learners by to think deeper and practice ideas through visual, auditory, and kinesthetic means. An example of an instructional strategies is the use of a flowcharts or graphic organizers to express ideas.
